we are looking for a dynamic individual with expertise in microfluidics or related fields. We are looking for a highly-skilled and motivated Microfluidics/Microreactors Expert to contribute to the development and integration of a novel multifunctional microfluidic chip for biomedical applications. It is a fantastic opportunity for an early career researcher to work on an exciting MRFF project with researchers from University as well as from industry partners.

Our new state of the art laboratory will enable high quality research to be conducted to meet the next generation of challenges like the development of novel biopharmaceutical production processes, new mRNA nanomedicine therapeutics. It will also be equipped to work on aspects of nanomedicines, RNA therapeutics, and microreactors. The candidate will be encouraged to develop their own research programme to meet the challenges of the future. Additionally, you will work with different stake-holders to meet project milestones, coordinating the project with industry partners.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated track record of high-quality research related to microfluidics, 3D printing, nanoparticle synthesis in microreactors, or related fields
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in design, fabrication and validation of microreactors, modelling and simulation using tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS or CFD, etc., integration of different modules in a single microfluidic device (e.g., synthesis, separation and purification, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good laboratory practice and ability to maintain accurate records of laboratory work, experience in supervising students and leading projects, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional and collegial manner, and to build rapport with all levels of academic and professional staff within a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the diversity of the School community.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field from reputable universities.
